Hi! Welcome! So glad that you stopped by!
You are probably visiting to look around, maybe to gather information and possibly to decide whether I'm the right choice to help with your upcoming project. Trust me - from inside the business, I know all of the reasons why choosing a photographer can be a difficult decision. Part of the problem is a lack of transparency and that's why I've chosen a different approach. Maybe the session fees are attractively low, but there are huge mark-ups on the prints. Maybe you were never told that you can't have the digital files or you have to pay for some images you don't like just to get the ones you do. In the end, will the experience be disappointing or way too expensive because of questions that you didn't ask? or because of information about cost and process that wasn't shared openly with you?
Take a moment and consider how I've decided to do things differently!
* Making money is not my motivation. I'm passionate about my photography, but I don't rely on that income for my livelihood. I love meeting new people and working together on creative portrait ideas but I also have a full-time job that meets my family's needs. My photography income covers equipment, software and other costs related to my business. This is truly a labor of love! The difference is noticeable - more time working with my clients on a shoot and with their edits and no high pressure tactics.
* Clients make the choices! Following our shoot, I sit down with my clients to review our images or deliver a proofing gallery for their review. Clients choose which images will be edited and pay only for those selections. Final edits are posted to a Pixieset gallery and from there, images can be downloaded, shared and prints can be ordered for home delivery. No pressure, no package constraints, no minimums. Choose what you love, get what you want.
* My charges are easy to understand and there are no hidden fees or unwelcome surprises. I charge $40 per hour shooting, $15 flat travel (Triad area), $20 gallery prep, $10 per edited image (single subject) $15-$20 (couples and most families). The quality of my work is on display throughout this site. Prints are ordered from professional shops, WHCC and Miller's, and my price list is available on request. If you want to have some print costs to compare, I don't mind at all. My 2019 5x7's are $6 and 8x10's are $10.
So look around and see if my style is a good fit for your project. I'm always happy to help with advice and available to answer any questions that you might have. Just use the contact card, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or text to 336-880-3530.
Hope to hear from you! John
About me . . .
I'm a portrait photographer serving Winston Salem, Greensboro, High Point and the surrounding communities. My wife, Delane, and I have two kids. Our son graduated from Elon in 2018, married the love of his life, and lives in Greensboro. Our daughter is a freshman at NCSU. I specialize in female portraiture and modeling (both studio and location), digitals, portfolio-building, professional headshots and artistic collaborations. Photography is not my full-time profession, but I invest many hours each week in pursuit of this wonderful art. I am pleased that this arrangement directly benefits my clients through reasonable pricing, both for my time and for printed products. Exceptional quality, above and beyond service, fair prices, no surprises - that's what you can expect. Reach out anytime - I would love to help with your next project. John
